There are many ways to support Fans for the Cure and our mission to reduce the number of prostate cancer deaths in our country and throughout the world by advocating early detection. Our programs promote awareness, regular engagement and discussions with one’s physician, and appropriate monitoring of one’s prostate health. We also provide physician referrals and educational resources we hope will lead men to the latest and best healthcare solutions in both diagnostic procedures and treatment programs.
You can support us by:
- Donating to our programs. You can help us by contributing to our programs, either as a one-time donor, a recurring member, or as a contributor to specific programs, such as helping out our Baseball Road Trip or funding a free screening for men without insurance or the resources to see a doctor.
- Volunteering to help out at events. We will visit 170 Major and Minor League ballparks this season, we will sponsor or co-sponsor about twenty medical/educational seminars, and we will hold several special fundraisers (galas, celebrity interviews, concerts) that will require the help of volunteers. Please get in touch with us and tell us where you live and how you want to help.
- Tell the men in your life to see their doctors. Prostate cancer has a cure rate that approaches 99% when the disease is detected early, when the maximum number of treatment options – and many less invasive ones – are available. Please be aware that race (African Americans) and family history of the disease increase the odds of a positive test for prostate cancer in a man’s lifetime.
Your help will allow sons, dads, and families stay together, longer. Prostate cancer is highly curable if caught early. Help us get the word out.
