For a urologist known for having performed over 10,000 robotic radical prostatectomies in his stellar and distinguished career, Dr. Ash Tewari can also speak to having 1,000 patients who are on active surveillance. (“You need to be active; we do the surveillance.”) He made clear that he believes in compiling as much information as possible before there is medical intervention (i.e. surgery, radiation, focal therapy) in a man’s case.
