In connection with National Prostate Health Month, we’re working to put together a host of events and activities to increase prostate cancer awareness. Together with our partners, we’ll also deliver a number of prostate cancer screenings in and around New York City.

Our Schedule of Activities for National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month
Thursday, 07-Sep-2017 at 6:00 pm at MCU Park in Coney Island, NY: PSA test/prostate cancer screening (blood test) with our partner, Winthrop University Hospital at a Brooklyn Cyclones game. It’s also Fan Appreciation Day. Come out early, walk on the boardwalk, get screened (simple blood test administered by NYU Winthrop) or encourage a loved one to get a PSA test. A PSA test is a simple blood test measuring the concentration of prostate-specific antigen (PSA), a protein produced by the prostate gland.
What is a PSA Screening?Saturday, 16-Sep-2017 at Fordham University’s Jack Coffey Field: Fans for the Cure will have an information table at the Rams’ home game against Eastern Washington University.
Tuesday, 26-Sep-2017 at 7:00 pm at Yankee Stadium: PSA test/prostate cancer screening (blood test), conducted by NewYork–Presbyterian Hospital.
Saturday, 30-Sep-2017 at All Hallows High School: A free prostate cancer screening and walk at All Hallows High School in the Bronx, NY, in partnership with NYU/Winthrop University Hospital.
Saturday, 30-Sep-2017 at Fordham University’s Jack Coffey Field: Fans for the Cure will have an information table at the Rams’ home game against Yale University.
Prostate Cancer Awareness Public Service Announcements
We’re delighted to report that we will also be running public service announcements (PSA) via a number of different media outlets. We have planned month-long PSAs to run on multiple channels on Sirius/XM Radio and in New York on both all-news radio stations and WFAN.
We also have the following baseball personalities and athletes lined up to record PSA.
- Recent prostate cancer survivor Jack Corrigan, the radio voice of the Colorado Rockies;
- Recent prostate cancer survivor Dave Sims, television voice of the Seattle Mariners;
- Hall of Famer Andre Dawson, a member of our Legends for Life Advisory Board, will serve as the voice and face of radio and TV PSAs to run on the Miami Marlins’ radio network and on the video board in-stadium.
As we work to reach more communities, we’re happy to share that the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies Spanish radio networks will air a PSA all month as well.
