Allison Applebaum, Ph.D., is the Director of the Steven S. Elbaum Family Center for Caregiving at Mount Sinai Hospital, and author of the narrative nonfiction book, Stand By Me: A Guide to Navigating Modern, Meaningful Caregiving (Simon Element, 2024). Dr. Applebaum will discuss the stress and distress of caregiving through the unique lenses of her research, her clinical work, and her lived experience. She will use this perspective to provide caregivers of cancer patients with information and guidance.

Andrew Roth, MD, is an Emeritus Attending Psychiatrist at Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases, Professor Emeritus of Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College, and author of the book Managing Prostate Cancer: A Guide for Living Better. Dr. Roth will outline the “emotional judo” skills and strategies that can help men and their caregivers cope with the daily challenges a prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment can present.

Nicole Stout, DPT, CLT-LANA, FAPTA, is the Senior Director of Survivorship and Wellness at the American Cancer Society, where she leads a national portfolio of strategic initiatives in lifestyle medicine and caregiver support in oncology. She has authored numerous publications and books based on her extensive cancer care delivery research. Dr. Stout will discuss the paramount role caregivers play in supporting survivorship and cancer care, and highlight the American Cancer Society’s programs, resources, and services for caregivers.
