As we turn the page from October’s full calendar of community events to November’s focus on families, I am again reminded that prostate cancer affects far more of us than the men who face it—it also touches the hearts, resilience, and the daily schedules of the people who love them. November is National Family Caregivers Month, and we’re honored to mark it with “Caring for the Caregivers,” a wonderful collaboration with the American Cancer Society at Hope Lodge in NYC on Thursday, November 13.
Consisting of more than twenty-five events in September and October, the fall season has been a busy one for our team. We began on September 5-6 in Harlem and finished October with The Cancer Awareness Walk and Health Fair in Bedford-Stuyvesant (Brooklyn), organized by the Healthcare Leaders of New York. We also participated in free prostate cancer screenings in Teaneck, Newark, Plainfield, and Linden as part of our yearlong ScreenNJ grant, and continued expanding outreach to neighborhoods where access to quality preventive care, especially for uninsured men, remains out of reach for many.
Through these efforts, our mission continues to be simple and steady: to meet men and their families where they are.
Thank you for standing with us as we support men and their families through every inning of their journeys. |

Stay in the Game: A Conversation with Ozzie Smith
|
| |
|
In this interview with our charity’s founder, Ed Randall, Ozzie Smith takes us on his post-MLB journey, which has included a prostate cancer diagnosis and forty-five radiation treatments that returned him to health and his regular tee times. One can hear the excitement in his voice as he describes his various projects, including a golf project called PGA Reach, a Board position at the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, and his role as a prostate cancer advocate.
As you would expect, Ozzie was outspoken about the importance of delivering the message of PSA testing and early detection to the Black community. |

For the thirty days of September, Ed Randall could be spotted criss-crossing the Tri-State area as part of his annual 30 Catches in 30 Days initiative.
Special thanks to TD Bank for its generous sponsorship and to the many supporters and friends who joined Ed on the field. Several local TV and radio outlets covered Ed’s ambitious schedule, helping spread our charity’s message of awareness, responsibility for one’s health, and the importance of early detection.
As Ed's throwing season comes to a close, our stats team is pulling together his numbers for 2025. For all you baseball fans, know that we will publish those in the coming weeks.
