With the arrival of April, we are sharing the schedule of our in-person events for the coming months.
Fans for the Cure

MARCH 2024

On behalf of our Chairman, Steve Garvey, I want to welcome everyone to April, which means the beginning of spring and with it, the joys of the baseball season. The warmer weather is a perfect time to break out the old Rawlings glove, sign up, and have a Catch for the Cure.

April also marks the month where we begin to organize or take part in an increasing number of community health events that take place outdoors. Check the events calendar on the website for more information.

Special thanks go out this month to the doctors who so graciously support what we do. Dr. Anthony Corcoran of NYU Langone Health – Long Island joined us for a wonderful presentation and Q&A with the Knights of Columbus Hartigan Council in Bethpage, NY, and Dr. Michael Feuerstein of NewYork-Presbyterian Health – Westchester led a compelling discussion at the Prostate Cancer Awareness Seminar hosted by the Messiah Baptist Church in Yonkers, NY. Dr. Stacy Loeb of NYU Langone Health again visited the Women’s Support Group, this time to underscore the benefits of a plant-based diet in both lowering cancer risk and improving outcomes and quality of life overall. And addressing a subject requested by several men, Dr. Michael Bernstein of Memorial Sloan Kettering walked the Men’s Support Group through the realities of post-prostatectomy recurrence, specifically the diagnostic tools that drive the most effective treatment options.

Sorry we are a couple of days late with the March newsletter. Thanks for your understanding and support. Hope to see you at our events in 2024.

Warm regards,

Ed Randall

In this podcast, he shares his unique insights into how discussion style differences between genders can sometimes lead to communication breakdowns – especially when the conversation centers on the diagnosis, treatment, and side effects of prostate cancer.
