Dear Friends,
As July comes to a close, we are grateful for a remarkable month and excited about the busy stretch ahead.
For four days at Major League Baseball's All-Star Village in Philadelphia, we met thousands of baseball fans and families at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Visitors ranging in age from six to eighty-six stopped by our table to learn about prostate cancer, ask questions, and take home educational materials. The Fans for the Cure bobblehead collection helped draw plenty of youngsters—and more than a few kids in their sixties.
Our sincere thanks to Major League Baseball and to April Brown, Amelia DeCeanne, and Dr. Larry Westreich, each of whom took time to visit our table and made us feel so welcome.
Now we look ahead to August and September, National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month—our busiest time of year. Our schedule includes the Staten Island FerryHawks on August 13, the Milwaukee Brewers on August 21, the Buffalo Bisons on September 6, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals two days later, and our annual prostate cancer screening with Montefiore Einstein and the New York Yankees on Wednesday, September 23. We will also be participating in community health events throughout New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area.
Please visit our website for the complete August and September calendar. If we are scheduled in your community, we hope you are able to stop by and say hello.
Thank you for supporting Fans for the Cure through your generosity, volunteerism, encouragement, and friendship. Your partnership allows us to bring prostate cancer education, early detection programs, and compassionate resources to more men and families every day.
One conversation. One simple blood test. Better outcomes. |

Fans for the Cure Set to Return to Polar Park
|
| |
|
Fans for the Cure is proud to return to Polar Park on Tuesday, August 11, for its fourth consecutive Prostate Cancer Awareness Night with the Worcester Red Sox.
The evening will once again be hosted by WooSox President Dr. Charles Steinberg and Senior Director of PR and Community Relations, Alexis Dill, whose friendship and commitment have helped make Worcester one of our most valued annual partnerships.
Dr. Steinberg, who was previously elected to the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame, was inducted into the Wooster Red Sox Hall of Fame on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Dr. Charles has long championed Fans for the Cure and prostate cancer awareness.
Representing Fans for the Cure will be fellow Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer Rico Petrocelli, who will throw out one of the ceremonial first pitches. Petrocelli has been a valued friend and supporter of our mission to educate men about prostate cancer and the importance of early detection.
With two Red Sox legends helping to lead the evening, Fans for the Cure is honored to continue one of our favorite annual traditions in Minor League Baseball. |
