As we close the books on June — National Men's Health Month — I want to thank everyone who helped make it another meaningful month for Fans for the Cure.
Throughout June, we continued our mission of meeting men where they are — in communities, at ballparks, and at educational events across the country. Highlights included our annual screening at Citi Field, where more than 200 men received free PSA tests, along with community programs in northern New Jersey, Brooklyn, Rockland County, Cedar Rapids, and Chicago. Each stop reflected the strength of our partnerships with outstanding medical and community organizations committed to improving men's health.
The momentum continues. Our next stop is Major League Baseball's All-Star Village, July 11–14 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, where we will meet thousands of baseball fans from across the country. I also encourage you to visit our website and explore our growing summer calendar of events.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who supports Fans for the Cure. Your generosity allows us to continue bringing education, screenings, support groups, and trusted resources directly to the communities that need them most. Over 200 Men Screened at Citi Field
|

Fans for the Cure once again partnered with the New York Mets and NewYork-Presbyterian for our annual prostate cancer screening at Citi Field. Before the first pitch and throughout the first five innings of the Mets' game against the St. Louis Cardinals, more than 200 men received free PSA blood tests.
NewYork-Presbyterian urologists were on site and spent the evening answering questions and discussing prostate health with attendees.
Fans for the Cure was represented by six staff members and volunteers, including three prostate cancer survivors and patient advocates who shared their experiences and introduced men to the organization's education, support, and referral programs. |

City of New Rochelle Partnership Holds Employee Screening

On Tuesday afternoon, June 23, Fans for the Cure joined Montefiore Medical Center, the American-Italian Cancer Foundation, and the City of New Rochelle for a prostate cancer screening program serving current and retired city employees.
Approximately 50 men received free PSA screenings while learning about prostate health through the resources available at the Fans for the Cure information table.
The program grew from a chance meeting more than four years ago between Ed Randall and Sergeant Anthony Sabatino of the New Rochelle Police Department. What began as one conversation has grown into a valued partnership serving the New Rochelle and southern Westchester community. |

Prostate Cancer Awareness Day in Cedar Rapids

Despite rainy weather, Fans for the Cure was pleased to return to Cedar Rapids for our annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Day with Mercy Urology Clinic, Cedar Rapids Kernels, and Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine.
Special thanks to Matt Light and the Kernels organization, Dr. Matt Ferroni and the Mercy Urology team, Rawlings for donating baseballs, and the Pittsburgh Pirates for donating autographed Mitch Keller jerseys for a fundraising auction benefiting the hospital. |

A Day Dedicated to Men's Health

Fans for the Cure participated in the annual Men's Health Seminar at NYU Langone Hospital–Long Island during National Men's Health Month.
The program featured physicians and community leaders discussing prostate cancer, heart health, sexual medicine, colorectal cancer screening, sleep disorders, and more.
Fans for the Cure provided educational materials, information about our programs, raffle prizes, and concluded the day with Ed Randall's traditional game of catch outside the hospital with Dr. Aaron Katz. |

Loyola Health Seminar Focuses on Men's Health

Fans for the Cure joined Loyola Medicine, the Stritch School of Medicine, and Boston Scientific for a June 20 educational seminar devoted to prostate cancer, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and men's health. We extend our thanks to Dr. Ahmad El-Arabi and Dr. Ahmer Farooq for their clear presentations about these important topics.
Fans for the Cure introduced its education, support, and community outreach programs while encouraging attendees to take advantage of the many resources available to men and their families. |

Prostate Cancer – By the Numbers

- According to a 2025 survey commissioned by the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 48% of men in the U.S. do not know that diagnosing prostate cancer starts with a simple PSA blood test.
- About 90% of prostate cancers are diagnosed before symptoms appear.
- One in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.
- When prostate cancer is detected early and remains confined to the prostate, the five-year survival rate exceeds 99%.
- A PSA test can be as simple as checking one additional box when discussing your annual blood work with your physician.
